I took this photo on an early morning hike in the Badlands, so the light was just right to reveal this land form resembling the paw of a bear sunk deeply into the land, as if protecting the land from total destruction. The beautiful colors of the minerals in the soil where heightened by a rain that morning before the sun came up.

A Call To Optimism and Hope Why is there so much hate and discontent in the world today? Although their origins are far from simple, we have an opportunity right now to improve our world by championing their opposites - optimism and hope..
